Not at all! All levels are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced artists.

Whether you are picking up a paintbrush for the first time or have an established practice, the retreat is designed to meet you exactly where you are and support your unique creative process.

Groups are intentionally kept small to create a more personal and connected experience.

Most retreats have around 8 participants, with a maximum of 16.

All retreats and workshops are conducted in English.

Guests are responsible for arranging their own travel to Morocco.

There are direct flights to Marrakesh from Houston, San Francisco, Newark, Atlanta, and Chicago. For our Canadian friends: direct flights are also often available from Toronto and Montreal.

From there, a private transfer to and from the Marrakesh airport is included. You’ll be met personally at the designated pickup point and escorted you to the villa, making the journey to Morocco smooth and welcoming.


Arriving at least one day early is recommended to allow for potential travel delays and time zone adjustment.

Yes, Wi Fi is available in rooms and common areas.

Reception is generally available but may vary depending on the location.

Yes, laundry service is available, and we’re happy to help coordinate.

Please note this retreat may not be suitable for participants with low or limited mobility. Getting around involves short walks and occasional uneven terrain, including vineyard paths and cobblestone streets.

Meals are a highlight of the experience and are designed to celebrate the best of Moroccan cuisine.

Included in the retreat are daily breakfasts, lunches, and most dinners, all with full beverage service including wine.

*Two meals are reserved to explore Marrakech's incredible restaurant scene at your own expense.

Yes! Most dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.

Accommodation, meals and wine, art instruction, all art supplies, scheduled activities, and airport transfers are included.

Everything is designed so you can fully relax, create, and enjoy the experience without needing to plan the details.

Airfare, travel insurance, personal expenses, accommodations before or after the retreat are not included, and two meals.

All art supplies are provided for you, including paint, canvas, watercolor paper, a journal, paintbrushes, and a selection of mixed media materials.

You simply need to arrive ready to create.

Yes, studio space is open and accessible throughout the week for you to use. The studio is a short walk from your accommodations.

Bring comfortable clothing, clothes suitable for painting (and/or an apron), layers for changing weather, personal toiletries, any medication you may need, and your travel essentials. It’s also helpful to leave a little extra space in your luggage, as you will be returning with two unstretched canvases that can be rolled for easy transport.

In Marrakech during November, the weather is typically warm and comfortable, with sunny days perfect for exploring, painting, and outdoor adventures.

Temperatures are generally mild during the day with cooler mornings and evenings, but can vary, so it’s best to check the forecast closer to your departure date and pack accordingly.

Bring a swimsuit, because there are two pools and one is heated.

Reservations for the Morocco retreat are made in advance through Périgord Retreats by completing the registration form on their website.

A 500 euro non-refundable deposit per participant is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Once your deposit is received, your place on the retreat will be confirmed.

After that, you can relax and start dreaming about Morocco! The Périgord Retreats team will follow up with your reservation details and guide you through the next steps leading up to the retreat.

The remaining balance of the retreat cost is due 180 days before departure. Failure to complete the final payment by the deadline may result in cancellation of your reservation.

If Perigord Retreats elects to cancel the workshop for any reason, including insufficient attendance, the entire amount paid to Perigord will be refunded within 30 days after the workshop’s cancellation.

In the unlikely event this should occur, Perigord has no other obligations to Participant for cancelled retreats, including, but not limited to, costs or fees related to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or other travel reservations not made by Perigord Retreats.

Perigord Retreats has no responsibility to provide refunds if the workshop is cancelled as a result of risk or threat of war, riot, civil strife, strike, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural disaster, fire, travel bans or other similar events beyond Perigord Retreats’ control.

In the unlikely event that the designated art instructor is unable to attend the workshop, Perigord may, at its sole discretion, substitute a qualified instructor to teach the course or cancel the trip. If Perigord cancels the trip, Perigord will refund amounts paid by Participants to Perigord as provided above.

It is HIGHLY recommended that you obtain trip  insurance that covers travel, medical, and cancellation insurance for protection against any circumstances that might require cancellation or change of travel arrangements.



We strongly advise that your chosen policy provides coverage in case of lost or delayed baggage, loss of personal belongings, trip cancellation, trip interruption, accidents, illness, injury, medical expenses, death, and emergency repatriation.
