Haven’t picked up a paintbrush since childhood?
Perfect! You’ll fit right and and be gently guided to let go of the fear of beginning and dive into the intuitive painting process. There are no mistakes here, perfectionism is a trap, and the possibilities are endless. We’ll focus on the process and not the end result. While I'll share plenty of painting tips, techniques, and "rules", I'll also encourage you to break them all. There is zero judgement here and only good vibes!

What to expect
Paint Beneath the Warm Glow of Marrakech’s Desert Sun
When was the last time you painted surrounded by the colors, textures, and magic of Morocco? Here, you’ll have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in creativity while being inspired by the vibrant energy of Marrakech, ancient traditions, intricate patterns, and the breathtaking landscapes beyond the city.
All art supplies will be provided. All you need to do is show up!
Paint, brushes, a variety of mark-making tools, and surfaces including watercolor paper and canvas will be ready for you. We will work primarily in acrylics and mixed media tools to create abstract paintings from start to finish.
This process will help you loosen up, tune into your intuition, release expectation, and invite joyful expression in painting and your daily life.

Our private Moroccan villa includes two sparking swimming pools, beautifully landscaped gardens, inviting indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, a painting studio, and plenty of areas to relax and recharge.
This tranquil oasis just outside the vibrant heart of Marrakech blends traditional Moroccan architecture with modern comfort. The villa features elegant rooms, comfortable shared spaces, and plenty of quiet corners perfect for painting, journaling, or slowing down.

Not at all! All levels are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced artists.
Whether you are picking up a paintbrush for the first time or have an established practice, the retreat is designed to meet you exactly where you are and support your unique creative process.

Groups are intentionally kept small to create a more personal and connected experience.
Most retreats have around 8 participants, with a maximum of 16. -
All retreats and workshops are conducted in English.

Guests are responsible for arranging their own travel to Morocco.
There are direct flights to Marrakesh from Houston, San Francisco, Newark, Atlanta, and Chicago. For our Canadian friends: direct flights are also often available from Toronto and Montreal.
From there, a private transfer to and from the Marrakesh airport is included. You’ll be met personally at the designated pickup point and escorted you to the villa, making the journey to Morocco smooth and welcoming.Arriving at least one day early is recommended to allow for potential travel delays and time zone adjustment.

Please note this retreat may not be suitable for participants with low or limited mobility. Getting around involves short walks and occasional uneven terrain, including vineyard paths and cobblestone streets.

Airfare, travel insurance, personal expenses, accommodations before or after the retreat are not included, and two meals.

You simply need to arrive ready to create.

Yes, studio space is open and accessible throughout the week for you to use. The studio is a short walk from your accommodations.

Bring comfortable clothing, clothes suitable for painting (and/or an apron), layers for changing weather, personal toiletries, any medication you may need, and your travel essentials. It’s also helpful to leave a little extra space in your luggage, as you will be returning with two unstretched canvases that can be rolled for easy transport.

Bring a swimsuit, because there are two pools and one is heated. -
Reservations for the Morocco retreat are made in advance through Périgord Retreats by completing the registration form on their website.
A 500 euro non-refundable deposit per participant is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot. Once your deposit is received, your place on the retreat will be confirmed.
After that, you can relax and start dreaming about Morocco! The Périgord Retreats team will follow up with your reservation details and guide you through the next steps leading up to the retreat.
The remaining balance of the retreat cost is due 180 days before departure. Failure to complete the final payment by the deadline may result in cancellation of your reservation.

If Perigord Retreats elects to cancel the workshop for any reason, including insufficient attendance, the entire amount paid to Perigord will be refunded within 30 days after the workshop’s cancellation.
In the unlikely event this should occur, Perigord has no other obligations to Participant for cancelled retreats, including, but not limited to, costs or fees related to the issuance and/or cancellation of airline tickets or other travel reservations not made by Perigord Retreats.Perigord Retreats has no responsibility to provide refunds if the workshop is cancelled as a result of risk or threat of war, riot, civil strife, strike, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural disaster, fire, travel bans or other similar events beyond Perigord Retreats’ control.
In the unlikely event that the designated art instructor is unable to attend the workshop, Perigord may, at its sole discretion, substitute a qualified instructor to teach the course or cancel the trip. If Perigord cancels the trip, Perigord will refund amounts paid by Participants to Perigord as provided above.

Katel and Harrison Turner from Perigord Retreats are our local hosts for this retreat, offering an experience that goes far beyond typical group travel. I had the opportunity to partner with them for another retreat, at their home in France and I’m so excited to do it again!
They curate an experience that feels personal, immersive, and truly authentic, handpicking our restaurants, wine, amazing day activities and accommodation.
They will be handling payment, room selection, travel logistics and can answer any questions you may have. They’ll even meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel!
