Who is this for?
No experience necessary!
Participants come from all walks of life, across cultures, identities, and creative paths, and everyone is warmly welcome here.
Haven’t picked up a paintbrush since childhood?
Perfect! You’ll fit right and and be gently guided to let go of the fear of beginning and dive into the intuitive painting process. There are no mistakes here, perfectionism is a trap, and the possibilities are endless. We’ll focus on the process and not the end result. While I'll share plenty of painting tips, techniques, and "rules", I'll also encourage you to break them all. There is zero judgement here and only good vibes!
Paint often?
Enliven your already established creative practice and discover how to tame your inner critic and release expectations so that you make more instinctual choices and create more freely.
Come solo or with friends!
Some participants arrive solo, others come with friends or loved ones, and it doesn’t take long before the whole group feels like a supportive, inspiring community.
What to expect
When was the last time you turned a sailing yacht into your very own floating art studio?
During our retreat, the sparkling turquoise waters of Greece's Saronic Islands will be our inspiration, and a beautiful sailing yacht will be our creative home for the week!
We'll paint on deck, fill our sketchbooks with color and memories, and explore charming seaside villages, quiet coves, and breathtaking island landscapes along the way.
Color Outside the Coastlines is an immersive, intuitive mixed media sketchbook retreat devoted to capturing the colors, textures, experiences, and feelings of our travels. Rather than creating picture-perfect representations of what we see, we'll use watercolor, drawing, expressive mark-making, and mixed media techniques to create colorful, layered pages inspired by our adventures.
All your art supplies will be provided - including your very own travel art kit with a bunch of my favorite mixed media sketchbook tools to take home with you.
This process will help you loosen up, trust your intuition, let go of perfectionism, and discover new ways to see and experience the world around you. And the best part? You'll return home with a sketchbook full of art, memories, and inspiration long after our voyage ends!
You'll Experience and Learn:
My integration of a whole-hearted creative practice, including meditation, journaling, and intuitive exploration
Painting and mixed media demonstrations aplenty
Expressive mark-making, layering, and playful mixed media techniques with acrylic and watercolor paints, pens, markers, crayons, pencils, and more
Creative ways to capture travel memories, colors, textures, and experiences in your sketchbook
Color mixing tips and tricks inspired by the stunning landscapes of the Greek Islands

Belonging + Group connection time
Want to make art in a welcoming and inclusive community where your identities and stories are celebrated?
I infuse the space with loving guidance and encouragement, but the heart of the experience is the community we form together. The collection of creatives misfits who lift and support each other along the way.
It’s normal for it to feel scared when showing up to a bunch of strangers in another country! But what happens in every sense of retreat is hard to describe.
When you give yourself that week, the trust we are able to foster, the joy, the vulnerability and the transformation with your painting is amazing!
paint boldly, break the rules, and trust your instincts…
Imagine sailing through sparkling turquoise waters, discovering hidden coves, colorful harbors, and sun-drenched villages, with a new island waiting to be explored around every corner.
The Saronic Islands are a magical mix of natural beauty, rich history, and authentic Greek island charm. From the colorful waterfront of Poros to the car-free cobblestone streets and artistic heritage of Hydra, each island has its own personality and plenty of inspiration to fill our sketchbooks.
We'll wander charming seaside villages, discover local art and culture, swim in crystal-clear coves, and soak up the Mediterranean sunshine. Along the way, we'll trade crowded tourist attractions for quiet anchorages, spectacular sunsets, and the freedom to explore at our own pace.
And in late June, we'll enjoy the beginning of the Mediterranean summer, with long, sunny days, warm temperatures, and beautiful opportunities to paint, swim, and play.
A little adventure, a little relaxation, and a whole lot of creative magic. What could be better?!
In a magical setting you’ll never forget.

Our Greek island adventure begins at the Alimos Marina in Athens, where we'll check in and set sail! Check-in begins at 3pm on the first day.
The closest airport is Athens International Airport (ATH), about 40–45 minutes from the marina by taxi. You'll be responsible for arranging your own transportation to the marina.
We strongly recommend arriving in Athens at least one day early. Nobody wants to miss the boat because of a delayed flight! Plus, it's a great excuse to spend a little extra time exploring Athens before our adventure begins.
Before the retreat, we'll send you a helpful travel guide with flight recommendations, transportation tips, and nearby hotel suggestions to make planning a breeze.

Good news! Catamarans are generally more stable than traditional sailboats, which means less rocking and rolling on the water. Our hosts tell us that seasickness is actually pretty rare on their trips, especially in the Greek islands in June, when conditions are typically favorable for sailing.
Of course, everyone's different, so if you're prone to motion sickness, we recommend bringing your preferred seasickness remedies just in case. We want you enjoying the gorgeous Greek islands, not feeling queasy!
-
Absolutely! Whether you're flying solo, bringing a friend, or coming with a partner, we've got options for you!
Our beautiful catamarans have 4–6 cabins, each with a double bed and its own private bathroom with a shower.
You can choose from three booking options:
Solo cabin: Enjoy a private cabin all to yourself.
Shared cabin: Book an individual spot and we'll thoughtfully pair you with a roommate. (Please note that cabins have double beds, so you'll be sharing a bed with your cabin mate.)
Book together: Traveling with a friend or partner? You can share a cabin together!
And please don't hesitate to come on your own! Many of our retreat guests arrive as strangers and leave with wonderful new friendships. It's one of my favorite parts of these experiences!
-
All over the boat! Our beautiful catamaran has multiple inviting spaces for us to get creative, from the spacious outdoor dining and lounge areas to the breezy upper deck and cozy spots with gorgeous views of the Greek islands. We'll also have opportunities to take our creativity ashore!
I'll be thoughtfully curating special travel art kits designed specifically for this adventure, with supplies perfect for painting, sketching, and journaling on the go. Think portable, playful, and full of possibilities!
We'll focus on creative travel journaling, capturing the colors, textures, landscapes, and little moments of magic along the way. No need for a traditional art studio when the Greek islands are our inspiration!

You don't need to be an athlete or have any sailing experience to enjoy this adventure! However, because of the nature of sailing and life aboard a catamaran, there are some accessibility considerations to keep in mind.
We'll be exploring smaller islands, hidden gems, and incredible places off the beaten path that most tourists never get to experience. While some of these stops allow us to step directly onto a marina dock, others will require getting in and out of a tender (a small boat that takes us between the yacht and shore).
There are also steps required to access most areas of the yacht, including cabins and communal spaces. Exploring the islands may involve walking on uneven terrain, cobblestone streets, and occasional hills.
Because of these factors, we handle accessibility requests on a case-by-case basis to accommodate individual needs wherever possible. If you have any mobility concerns or specific accessibility requirements, please reach out before booking. We're happy to talk through your needs with our sailing hosts and explore what's possible so you can feel comfortable and confident about joining us!
-
Meals are a highlight of this adventure! We'll have our very own private chef aboard the yacht, preparing delicious, freshly made meals inspired by the flavors of Greece and the Mediterranean.
Imagine starting your morning with breakfast overlooking the turquoise water, enjoying a leisurely lunch on deck, and gathering around the table for a beautiful dinner as the sun sets over the Greek islands. Yes, please!
All meals, snacks, and beverages (including wine, beer, and cocktails!) are included while we're aboard the yacht. We'll also have a couple of opportunities to dine at local restaurants on the islands, giving us a chance to experience authentic Greek cuisine. Those meals will be at your own expense.
Our chef can accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and food allergies. We'll be in touch 4–8 weeks before departure to collect everyone's dietary preferences and needs so the menu can be thoughtfully tailored to our group.

Gratuities for our wonderful onboard crew (skipper, chef, and host) are optional but always appreciated! Our sailing partners recommend budgeting approximately £200–£400 per guest for the week, shared among the three crew members, depending on your experience.
If you'd like to leave a tip, cash at the end of the trip is easiest. Simply give it to your skipper, who will distribute it among the crew.

Just bring yourself and your creative spirit! I'll be putting together special travel art kits thoughtfully curated for our sailing adventure, including sketchbooks, paints, brushes, and a playful assortment of mixed media materials. Everything will be portable and perfect for painting, sketching, and capturing inspiration as we explore the Greek islands.
All art supplies are included, so there's no need to pack a thing! But if you have a few favorite materials you can't live without, feel free to bring them along.

Late June is a gorgeous time to explore the Greek islands! Expect plenty of sunshine, warm Mediterranean days, and beautiful blue skies. Daytime temperatures typically range from the low 80s to low 90s°F (27–33°C), with evenings cooling into the upper 60s and low 70s°F (20–23°C).
The sea is warming up beautifully by late June, making it a wonderful time for swimming, floating, and soaking up that Greek island sunshine!
Rain is uncommon this time of year, although we may experience some breezy sailing days. Pack your swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, breezy summer clothes, and a light layer for cooler evenings on deck.
And don't forget a hat! That Mediterranean sun is no joke!

It is HIGHLY recommended that you obtain trip insurance that covers travel, medical, and cancellation insurance for protection against any circumstances that might require cancellation or change of travel arrangements.
We strongly advise that your chosen policy provides coverage in case of lost or delayed baggage, loss of personal belongings, trip cancellation, trip interruption, accidents, illness, injury, medical expenses, death, and emergency repatriation.
Terms and coverages vary depending on the specific insurance carrier. Carefully check before purchasing your policy.
