🌈 Color mixing tips, value and contrast insights, and more
Your Creative Voice
This class is designed to help you access creative courage, connect with your intuition, and unearth your inner wisdom. Together, we’ll explore what it means to make freedom-focused art in innovative ways, inviting raw honesty and emotional release into both your artwork and your life. You’ll learn to let go of overthinking and perfectionism, and instead embrace change, surprise, and spontaneity through intuitive layering. We’ll explore how contrast brings life to both art and emotion. Most importantly, you’ll rekindle inspiration, nurture self-acceptance with kindness, and form meaningful connections with kindred creative spirits.
Over the course of multiple days, we’ll move through the full arc of the creative process. You’ll begin with the excitement of starting fresh, move through the messy and often uncertain middle, and finish with clarity and confidence. I’ll be there to guide you at every step, especially during those challenging moments where the next move feels unclear. Painting over multiple days gives your work the space to breathe and develop. Returning with fresh eyes each day allows you to see new possibilities and refine your vision.
Beyond the Brush
I’ll share prompts, techniques, and a few helpful “rules” — then invite you to break them all. This is a space to explore, take risks, and quiet the inner critic.
This is not a paint-by-numbers class. I’m not here to teach you to paint like me or anyone else. This is your time to explore your own style, tell your own story, and create something that is uniquely yours.
Most importantly, we’ll build a supportive and joyful creative community. Expect laughter, creative messes, and maybe even a little dancing.
Come for the painting. Stay for the connection. Let’s get wild with wonder together.
Be bold. Let go. Get wild.
We're all artists! This class is for everyone, with no previous painting experience necessary. If you’re a beginner who has never painted before or an experienced painter feeling creatively stuck and in need of a boost of fresh inspiration, this course if for you!
Working intuitively to tune into our own personal emotions or instincts, we will move away from rules, formalalized skills, or the notion of right and wrong. My approach is to guide and facilitate you in making your own instinctive choices by providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where I hope you will feel at ease to create freely.
I anticipate lots of laughter, fostering of community, making a big 'ol mess, and maybe some dancing!
“As a newbie to this kind of retreat, I was a bit scared to be awful at making art next to strangers. Becky guided us through thinking about our intentions and getting over the judging voice we carry inside. I stepped up to the canvas and she made it so easy to get started. I really LOVE this process Becky introduced us to, and how she teaches the class with such joy. It was exactly what I had hoped for in a painting class. I had a chance to really struggle a bit, but never alone and never without guidance.”
