Abstract Landscapes

One day intuitive painting workshop

Saturday, June 4th. 12pm-5pm

Open to all levels. Seasoned painters and first-time painters are wholeheartedly encouraged to join. If you're a beginner who has never painted or an experienced painter feeling creatively stuck and in need of a boost of fresh inspiration, this course is for you.

We're all artists!

This class is for everyone, with no previous painting experience necessary. Through mind, body, and soul practices, we will enliven your already established creative practice or offer a start fresh. I will offer insight into the intuitive painting process, including prompts to get your started, tips for mark making, techniques for building layers with acrylic paint, and so much more.

Working intuitively to tune into our own personal emotions or instincts, we will move away from rules, formalalized skills, or the notion of right and wrong. My approach is to guide and facilitate you in making your own instinctive choices by providing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where I hope you will feel at ease to create freely.

I invite you to spend an afternoon with me letting loose, slinging paint, and having fun.

In the name of freedom and play, we'll be working on watercolor paper and canvas with a variety of mixed media materials such as acrylic paint, paint pens, colored pencils, oil pastels, micron pens, etc.

I will share abstract painting techniques and lay out steps to create richly layered landscape paintings. I’ll share abstract basics, including setting up a creative work space, palette options, substrate suggestions, etc. I’ll walk you through my process for building texture and depth. Using a variety of tools, mediums, and palettes, we will create intuitive and planned compositions through several guided exercises.

$225 USD (covers instruction and all materials)

Community

Each workshop will be limited to 8 attendees and will ensure lots of personal attention, support, and space to explore.

Safety

Hand Sanitizer available. Proof of vaccination and masks will be required.

Nourishment

I will provide tea, coffee, and seltzer waters galore. I will also have a small fridge and microwave available for use throughout the afternoon.

I’ve never been to an art workshop before and I loved it! Becky has such a nice, warm, and welcoming presence about her and she sets up the atmosphere so any intimidation melts away.

Perfect. I met and spent time with wonderful people, in a beautiful space, where we were all supported to be as free and creative as we could allow ourselves to be. The whole experience was cathartic.
